Martha taught elementary school for 20 years, and has been providing resources support and professional development for teachers at School Health Programs for 15 years. She served on the advisory panel that wrote the Health Education Content Standards for California, and is currently involved with both Safe Routes to Schools and the Tobacco Use Prevention Education programs.

She has been serving the students of San Francisco in high-needs schools since 2002 as an elementary classroom teacher and an instructional coach. Erica believes that teaching young people to become advocates for their health is a critical factor in attaining social justice, and is working hard to ensure that ALL students have access to quality, fact-based, and meaningful health education..

He has been teaching in SFUSD since 2002, and has taught thousands of students in San Francisco. He has a passionate belief that all young people deserve high-quality, fact-based information about their bodies and their health, and frequently writes and speaks about those issues.

He helped revise the district’s Wellness Policy and is committed to creating school, classroom and work environments which support active living and healthy food choices.

(415) 242-2615 x3255 | | BIOFrida has been involved in youth work for five years as an after school rock band instructor, tutor, and teen center lead counselor. She now embodies many roles throughout SFUSD’s School Health Programs as a Community Health Outreach Worker. Within the Health Education team, she helps support health curriculum implementation and professional development for teachers, while advocating for inclusiveness for transgender and gender non-conforming youth. Frida also supports the Tobacco Use Education Program, LGBTQ Support Services, and serves as part of Independence High School’s Wellness team.

Rosalia worked as a Peer Resource Coordinator in SFUSD middle schools for nine years, and has worked at School Health Programs for six years. Her current work, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focuses on comprehensive sexuality education and HIV prevention.

Most recently has she been a science resource teacher at Sanchez Elementary. She loves doing hands-on, experiential learning with young people.
